By adding calcium to PRP a gel matrix is formed which suspends the platelets in their activated state at the injection site for an extended period of time, this is PRFM (Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix)

There is usually no downtime after the procedure. There might be initial redness and swelling, but it will resolve between 24-48hrs.
